Glowing effect on a Photo

In this tutorial we’ll going to learn how to add glow to a photo giving it the look of a magazine cover.

First we start with a normal picture. Here I have the picture of a girl which I downloaded from Stock Exchange

Then we duplicate the layer. To do this go to Layer / Duplicate layer o just hit Ctrl + J

To this new layer we’re going to apply a Blur filter. Go to Blur / Gaussian Blur and set these values.

Hit ok and now change the blending mode of the layer to Screen.

And that’s it. You should have something like this.

Pretty easy. You could try changing de blending modes of the layers to get diferent results.
